Resident Council Foundation

 established 1997

- Our Purpose -

The sole purpose of the Resident Council Foundation is to improve the quality of life of our residents at Park River Estates Care Center. We are a nonprofit, 501 (c) 3 organization, established in 1997.

The money that the Foundation raises goes directly towards purchasing

monthly entertainment and other items that enhance the lives of our residents.

All purchases are voted and approved by the Board Members.

- Meet the Board -

Linnea Maki- President / Chair
Linnea graduated from the University of Minnesota-Duluth with degrees in History & International Studies, specializing in the Vietnam War and popular culture of the 1960's. She is also certified as an Activity Director and Activity Consultant. She has been the President of the Foundation and the Director of Therapeutic Recreation for Park River Estates since 2015.
She loves being a part of such a special organization and enjoys planning events &  fundraisers.
Outside of work, she loves being with her family, traveling, gardening, shopping for antiques, going out on her boat and being out on the water.
Her favorite quote is "How do you spell love? You don't spell it, you feel it." -Winnie the Pooh

Linnea lives in White Bear Lake with her husband Jason and their two Golden Retrievers Winnie & Ginger.

Pamela Carpentier- Vice President / Vice Chair
Pam graduated from Anoka Technical College with her degree in Health Information Technology.
She has worked at Park River Estates for over 20 years and is the Director of Health Information.
Pam also leads the committee on Safety & Emergency Preparedness.

Pam joined the Foundation in 2015 because she loves to be involved with enhancing the lives of our residents. 
She has a passion for coming up with new fundraising ideas and activities for the residents.

In her spare time, she enjoys going out on her boat, fishing, gardening,
four-wheeling, traveling, going to the casino, and spending time with her family.
Pam lives in Cambridge with her husband Mike. They have two sons Dylan & David, two dogs and two cats. 

Judie Piotrowski- Secretary/ Treasurer
Judie is a retired R.N. & I.B.C.L.C. She graduated with her nursing degree from Anoka-Ramsey Community College. She has lived in the Blaine/Andover community since her family moved from Duluth when she was 12 years old.
Judie joined the Foundation in 2012 after having both her parents reside at Park River
and seeing the wonderful care they received.
Her favorite quote is "Always pray to have eyes that see the best in people, a heart that forgives the worst,
a mind that forgets the bad and a soul that never loses faith in God."

Judie has been married to her husband Tom since 1975. They have two children together & seven grand children.
She enjoys traveling, going on cruises, road trips & fishing.

Vicki Petersen- Board Member
Vicki grew up in Coon Rapids and graduated from Anoka Technical College with a degree as a
Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant.
She retired in 2015 after working for 40 years as the Activity Director/ Volunteer Coordinator at Park River Estates.

Vicki was the founding President of the Resident Council Foundation
and enjoys keeping her connection with Park River as a Board Member.
She has also done past volunteer work with her church.

She is enjoying her retirement by traveling with her husband and family & wintering in Florida. She also enjoys painting, knitting & reading. She firmly believes that "getting old isn't for sissies!" and that "attitude is everything!"
She currently resides in Ramsey with her husband Ted. They have three children & seven grand-children. 

Alicia Ramlow- Board Member
Alicia graduated from Rasmussen College with her degree in Nursing.
She has been working with seniors in long-term care for many years in a variety of roles.
She previously has worked as an MDS Coordinator, in Therapeutic Recreation, Social Services & as a Nursing Assistant.
She is the Director of Nursing for The Estates at Twin Rivers.
She joined the Foundation Board in 2019 because she loves helping our residents live their best lives. 

Alicia loves doing anything that is outdoors and with her family!
She likes to garden, go fishing, hunting, four-wheeling and go out on her boat.
Her favorite quote is "You may not be everyone's cup of tea, but you are somebody's double shot of tequila!"
Her home is in Andover with her husband Wesley, daughter Hailey, their English Pointers named Letty & Lincoln and too many chickens.
