The sole purpose of the Resident Council Foundation is to improve the quality of life of our residents at Park River Estates Care Center. We are a nonprofit, 501 (c) 3 organization, established in 1997. The money that the Foundation raises goes directly towards purchasing monthly entertainment and other items that enhance the lives of our residents. All purchases are voted and approved by the Board Members.

Linnea Maki- President / Chair
Linnea graduated from the University of Minnesota Duluth with degrees in History & International Studies, specializing in the Vietnam War and popular culture of the 1960's. She is also certified as an Activity Director through NCCAP. She has been the President of the Foundation and the Director of Therapeutic Recreation/Volunteer Coordinator at Park River Estates since 2015.
She loves being a part of such a special organization and enjoys planning and organizing fundraisers.
In her spare time, she enjoys being with her family, traveling, gardening, shopping for antiques, being outside in the sun, going out on her boat and just being out on the water. Her favorite quote is "How do you spell love? You don't spell it, you feel it." -Winnie the Pooh
Linnea lives in White Bear Lake with her husband Jason, their two Golden Retrievers Winnie & Ginger and a cat who doesn't care for them much.
Pamela Carpentier- Vice President / Vice Chair
Pam graduated from Anoka Technical College with her degree in Health Information Technology. She has worked at Park River Estates for over 20 years and is the Director of Health Information. Pam also leads the committee on Safety & Emergency Preparedness.
Pam joined the Foundation in 2015 because she loves to be involved with enhancing the lives of our residents. She has a passion for coming up with new fundraising ideas and activities for the residents.
In her spare time, she enjoys going out on her boat, fishing, gardening, traveling and spending time with her family. Pam lives in Cambridge with her husband Mike. They have two sons Dylan & David, two dogs and two cats.
Judie Piotrowski- Secretary/ Treasurer
Judie is a retired R.N. & I.B.C.L.C. She graduated with her nursing degree from Anoka-Ramsey Community College. She has lived in the Blaine/Andover community since her family moved from Duluth when she was 12 years old.
Judie joined the Foundation in 2012 after having both her parents reside at Park River and seeing the wonderful care they received. Her favorite quote is "Always pray to have eyes that see the best in people, a heart that forgives the worst, a mind that forgets the bad and a soul that never loses faith in God."
Judie has been married to her husband Tom since 1975. They have two children together & seven grand children. She enjoys traveling, going on cruises, road trips & fishing.
Eileen Jansen- Board Member
Eileen has been a resident of Park River Estates since 2017 and joined the Foundation in January of 2019. Eileen grew up in Red Wing, Minnesota and moved to the Coon Rapids area with her husband Jim to raise their family.
Eileen worked to make a loving home for her husband and their seven children. After her children grew she managed a credit union. Eileen has dedicated most of her life to volunteering. Her volunteer experience includes St. Stephens Church in Anoka, Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids and with the Girl Scouts of America. She loves to help others so she was eager to join the Foundation and be apart of enhancing the lives of her fellow residents.
Eileen has been an avid reader her whole life. She also enjoys going to church and spending time with her family and friends. Eileen's favorite quotes are "The best laid plans of Mice & Men often go awry" and "Be still and know that I am God."
Marie Pelowski- Board Member
Marie grew up in Columbia Heights and graduated from college in Anchorage, Alaska. She returned to Minnesota to begin her career and start her family. She retired after working in international billing for D.O.W.
Marie is a founding member of the Foundation; her role previously was Secretary/Treasurer. Marie loves seeing the difference the Foundation has made in the lives of the residents since its inception. She lives by her favorite quote "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you."
In her spare time, she enjoys her retirement in Hinckley with her husband Jerry, who makes her laugh like no one else can. (She has decided that after all their years together, she kind of likes the guy.) She enjoys traveling, the company of friends, their four children, seven grand-children and winning at the casino.
Vicki Petersen- Board Member
Vicki grew up in Coon Rapids and graduated from Anoka Technical College with a degree as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant. She retired in 2015 after working for 40 years as the Activity Director/ Volunteer Coordinator at Park River Estates.
Vicki was the founding President of the Resident Council Foundation and enjoys keeping her connection with Park River as a Board Member. She has also done past volunteer work with her church.
She is enjoying her retirement by traveling with her husband and family & wintering in Florida. She also enjoys painting, knitting & reading. She firmly believes that "getting old isn't for sissies!" and that "attitude is everything!" She currently resides in Ramsey with her husband Ted. They have three children & seven grand-children.
Pat Walker- Board Member
Pat has been a member of the Foundation since 2017, joining shortly after moving to Park River Estates. Pat was eager to join the Foundation to help her fellow residents live their best possible lives.
Pat grew up in Belgrade, Minnesota where she helped on her family farm. She ventured to the city to go to college at the Minnesota School of Business and developed her career as a bookkeeper for the 1st State Bank in Minneapolis. Pat's prior volunteer experience included the Braille/Sight Saving School, The American Cancer Society and the Girl & Boy Scouts of America.
Pat feels blessed to have shared 45 years of marriage to her husband Jim and for their 5 wonderful children. Pat is very active in programs and attends several activities daily. She also enjoys knitting, crocheting, sewing, quilting, crafting, gardening, baking and cake decorating. Pat strongly believes that you should strive to treat people the best you can each and every day.
